Indie Author Spotlight: Helena Fairfax A Way from Heart to Heart.

As I hand over the blog for some of December to some authors you may not know, today’s “Indie Author in the Spotlight” is Helena Fairfax.

Helena Fairfax was born in Uganda and came to England as a child. She’s grown used to the cold now, and these days she lives in an old Victorian mill town in Yorkshire. Her first novel, The Silk Romance, was a contender for the Romantic Novelists’ Association New Writers’ Scheme Award and a runner-up in the Global Ebook Awards, and her current work in progress was shortlisted for the Exeter Novel Prize.

In her spare time, Helena walks the Yorkshire moors every day with her rescue dog, finding this romantic landscape the perfect place to dream up her heroes and her happy endings.

Here is what Helena tells me about who her novel, “A Way from Heart to Heart” might appeal to.

Who would this novel appeal to? Just after this novel came out, I had this review from book-blogger Jo at Jaffa Reads Too “A Way from Heart to Heart is…a touching and beautifully written story about the power and healing nature of love.” If you enjoy an emotional, uplifting story about love in all its forms, then I hope this fits the bill.

What is it about?

After the death of her husband in Afghanistan, Kate Hemingway’s world collapses around her. Kate’s free time is spent with a charity for teenage girls in London, helping them mend their broken lives – which is ironic, since her own life is fractured beyond repair.

Reserved, ex-public school journalist Paul Farrell is everything Kate and her teenage charges aren’t. But when Paul agrees to help Kate with her charity on a trip to the Yorkshire moors, he makes a stunning revelation that changes everything.

Can Kate take a risk with her son’s happiness as well as her own?

Tomorrow I’ll be talking about one of my December reads – but pop back again later this week for another Indie Author Spotlight.

Happy Reading Folks!

  1. Helena Fairfax, a fabulous romance writer and blogger.

    Wonderful post.

  2. Hey, Helena. What a smart idea, Liz, to give yourself more time when we are the busiest and to let readers meet some new authors. 🙂
I’ve read Helena’s book. It is quite wonderful. All of her books are, but his one is my favorite because the story is so layered and I like second chance themes. Well done, Helena. I’ll share. 🙂
