The Stories You Tell Kristen Lepionka. Blog tour review.

A 3
am phone call is never good news.

Private investigator Roxane Weary receives a panicked call from her brother, Andrew: his one-time fling, Addison, who turned up at his apartment the night before drunk, bloodied and hysterical, has gone missing. As police suspicion quickly falls on her brother, Roxane knows she is the only person who believes him, she just has to figure out what happened.

Through tracking Addison’s digital footprint she goes deeper and deeper into the events preceding her disappearance. But, as Roxane struggles to distinguish the truth from the stories people tell about themselves online, the case takes another dramatic turn.

This series is by far one of the best out there at the moment, featuring flawed but utterly compelling protagonist Roxanne Weary and some superb, involving and beautifully written stories.

Like the previous books I devoured this in one sitting, a pacy, intelligent piece of noir with an intriguing mystery element and some unpredictable plotting – the characters and the setting come alive on the page- you can’t help but get dragged along in the wake.

There’s more depth added to Roxanne’s world here alongside the current case she has taken on and it is genuinely addictive from start to finish. I adore the way this author writes, true talent and a way with words that digs deep.

I absolutely recommend the entire series.
